Coneheads

So there have been painters out at the apartment complex we live at that have been painting all the buildings for the last month. They have painted about 2/3 of the buildings so far and they just got started on ours. Whitney gets home last night and the painters had put cones all in front of the spaces in front of our building.

Well, this is bullshit because they haven't blocked off any other parking spaces when they were painting the other buildings. We already don't have enough parking spaces as is, and then they want to block off 14 spots? In the photo above you can see some cars next to the cones, well those were blocked off initially but I guess those people decided to move the cones out of the way. Haha.

So I get home after bowling and decide that I am either A. Going to steal the cones, B. Going to relocate the cones and put them in the bushes or randomly around the building or C. rearrange them to look like bowling pins. Guess which one we went with…

There were just enough cones to make a perfect 10 pin bowling setup!

And apparently it was a good opportunity for Whitney to tebow. Lol.

Don't mess with Matt Damon

There have been many new things going on and slightly life changing events happening in my life, hence my absence from the blogging world for so long. I plan on coming back soon and picking up where I left off with the crazy misadventures in lovely Savannah. In the meantime... here is some Anderson Cooper to help you get through your day.

Xoxo.

6 More Weeks

Punxsatawny Phil seems to predict that we will have 6 more weeks of winter. I think I am going to side with Staten Island Chuck who says we are in for an early spring. Chuck is more reliable with an accuracy rate of 76% over the past 26 years whereas Phil only has an accuracy rate of 39%.

I am so over this cold and dreary weather. Seriously, we live in Savannah. At most, winter lasts about 3 days here. I might as well be living in Seattle or something with this lame weather.

Keep your fingers crossed for an early spring!

Forgiveness

Dear Father, forgive me for I have sinned. It has been 54 days since I last blogged.

Yes, I know. That is a long ass time. My apologies. Work has been taking up 85% of my time, and the other 15% has been filled with people coming in from out of town, or me traveling up to Atlanta. I swear, it is never ending.

Oh yeah, here is some exciting news. My little sister (who is 20) is pregnant. Normally, this would make anyone coo and be excited. Not me, or anyone in our family. See the thing is, she is 20, has no job, no actual place to call home (she is a bit of what you would call a drifter), has been know to do meth, amongst other drugs, and the father of the child is a druggie younger than her. So yeah, that has been a lot of fun. And she is convinced that she is going to raise the child and everything will be fine. In fact, she has quite the plan laid out. I think her plan consists of getting put on food stamps, and then getting set up with Medicaid, and then renting a trailer house behind the trailer she refers to as the drug house. However, she may be coming to her senses. She has mentioned that she may allow our foster parents to adopt the baby which would be the best thing for both her and the baby. Fingers crossed!

On another note, I was fortunate enough to hang out with Kat last Thursday night. How cool is that? I know you are all so very jealous. And Kat is even cooler in person than she is online! Hard to fathom, I know. I met up with Kat, Jess, Larkin, Master Wog, Bobby and Krystal downtown and totally rocked Blaine's. It was my first time at Blaine's and it is quite an awesome bar. Where else can you go with awesome karaoke and all you can drink beer for $10? So I have a shit ton (something like a metric ton, just more) of pictures to go through and post as well as some awesome video footage. I swear I will post these soon.

Up and coming events to look forward to: Halloween party at my house! (With lots of promise for some awesome stories and photos.)

I Am Honored!

Look at what Jess left at my doorstep!

Apparently there are a few rules to adhere to with this award. I will try my best...

First, link back to the person who gave you the award.

Next, give the award to 10 other bloggers.

This is going to be challenging because I do not know very many people on here and a lot of the people I would like to send it to, I think Jess has already given it to them. Oh well, they will just have it twice!

1. Larkin - Because she rocks like that.

2. Jess - Because she gave it to me, and now she will have been awarded it 3 times!

3. Sunshine - Because I love reading her blog and admiring her photos.

4. Organic Meatbag - Because we share a mutual hatred for Rachel Ray.

5. Kat - Because she started the "Dear So and So" series and I love it!

6. Lilligirl - Because she rocks and saves doggies.

7. Ivy - Because she is funny as hell and needs to write a new blog already!

8. Mama Dawg - Because she is awesome.

9. Captain Dumbass - Because he has the most random and entertaining blog ever.

10. Trooper Thorn - Because he gives me something to look forward to on fridays... Demotivational Friday!

Ha! I think that covers the whole 10 blogs I am following right now!

Third, list 10 honest things about yourself.

1. I am half Hungarian and half Italian.

2. I am super passionate about animals.

3. I wanted to be a forensic pathologist when I was in high school. (Before CSI and all that crap came out.) But my fear of death kicked in and kinda put a stop to that ambition.

4. I am a pastafarian. RAmen!

5. 311 is my favorite band. Ever.

6. Three things run in my family: Alcoholism, Bi-Polar disorder, and Cancer. Luckily I have not acquired any of these. Yet.

7. My grandmother was super smart, and an alcoholic. She did everything from running a small magazine publication in Florida to running an escort service, to being the secretary for the Ambassador of the Republic of Chad. After she died, my mom found the original invitation to the funeral of John F. Kennedy! It has the official presidential seal and everything.

8. I have one younger sister. Her and I couldn't be more different.

9. I have one dog, Pullo, and 2 cats, Daisy and Henry. All 3 are spoiled beyond belief, and Henry is a binge eater.

10. And lastly... Wild Wing Cafe is my most favorite place to eat and hang out.

Drunken Downtown Debauchery

Last Friday night was an exciting one. It was full of beer, tequila, and of course, karaoke! The night started and finished at Bay Street Blues. My friend Erica was in town from Atlanta for the weekend, and we met up with Jess, Larkin, Krystal, and a couple other friends.

Mothra Attacks!

As I was getting ready for bed last night, I let Pullo out like always to go potty. I went to let him in, and a big HUGE luna moth comes rushing in. Right away, my cat Daisy pounces on it and starts tearing up its wings. It flails about and manages to land on top of the folding doors to my laundry room. By this time I am thoroughly freaked out. I grab a stool and try to get a better look at it, and this is when I notice just how BIG and hairy it is. I have no problem with your normal everyday moth, I can catch those and get them out of my house. This thing was bigger than my palm. So here I am running through my house screaming every time it comes near me. I called a friend who live about 15 minutes away to see if they would come save me since the hubby was at work, and all they could do was laugh hysterically at me.

After another 20 minutes of him trying to fly through my house and my cats chasing after him, he finally got tired and laid down on the laundry room floor. I ran over to the kitchen and grabbed a lid to a pot and put it over the moth. I left him there until the hubby got home and was able to take him outside. Surprisingly, he was still alive.
This is not the moth that was in my house, but if you click on the photo you can see just how hairy this thing is!

The luna moth is pretty from a distance, but not when it is tyring to break into your house and rape you in the middle of the night.

I am 99.9% sure that he is a direct descendant of Mothra. (And this is pretty close to what it felt like last night when he ran into the house to attack me.)

I was jumpy all night after that. Every light touch I felt, I thought it was Mothra coming to get me.
