A Texas Wedding

Ok, I am a bit slow in posting this, but this is from the weekend of May 14th through the 17th.
Ronnie and I flew out of Atlanta to Dallas, TX, and made the 2 hour drive to Longview, TX. The reason for our trip? My niece (Ronnie's sister's oldest daughter) was getting married on Saturday 05/16. The last time we went to Longview was for Thanksgiving. Also, the younger niece gave birth the day before Thanksgiving to a beautiful baby boy.

So, there isn't much to do in Longview. It isn't geographically interesting, it looks a lot like Georgia. I prefer the Hill Country part of Texas or even West Texas. But going to see family makes the trip well worth it. While some people don't care much for their in-laws, I love them. I felt like I was part of the family straight away.
But, here are some highlights from our trip and the wedding:
(Some of the photos were taken by me, other were taken by various people at the event.)

My niece Jeanna (the bride) and her daughter Lexi.

A look at my outfit

I am usually the one behind the camera, so I don't have a lot of photos of myself, but I think this is a good one.

The girls acting tough, and the men holding the flowers.

The ceremony

Look closely, and you will see he is holding a ring pop!

So sweet...

My wedding gift to them: Custom koozies!

And they lived happily ever after...

Randomness

I was tagged by Jess and Larkin to do this...

What are your current obsessions?
Let's see...
My puppy dog Pullo,
Chowder (I love this show),
311
and sour patch kids.

What’s for dinner?
I am planning on having some Papa Johns tonight. Pepperoni and mushroom please!

What is your greatest fear at the moment?
Ummm... DEATH. (Hence the thanatophobia.) I think that is always my greatest fear, followed by Ronnie joining the Army.

What are you listening to?
311!

What are your favorite holiday spots?
My parent's house for most holidays. For the summer holidays, it would either be the beach or the lake.

What are you reading right now?
The Ultimate Book of Useless Information (Did you know that squirrels can not carry or get rabies?)

What is your guilty pleasure?
Double Doozie cookies at the Great American Cookie Co. *drooling*

Who or what makes you laugh?
My boss, he is a damn riot. And Jess, Larkin, and Magan are pretty good at making me laugh with the random shit they say.

What is your favorite Spring thing to do?
Start going to the beach, (I agree Jess!) or the lake. I am ready for some water skiing!

Where are you planning to travel next?
If you asked a week ago, it would've been Texas. But seeing as how I just returned from there yesterday, I will say either Montrose, Colorado or Miami, Florida.

What is the best thing you ate or drank lately?
Fresh home made flour tortillas at a mexican restaurant in Texas.

When was the last time you were tipsy?
Saturday night, after my niece's wedding in Texas. (At a western bar/club. I even line danced!)

What is your favorite ever film?
It is hard to pin down just one film... but one of my top favorites is Monty Python's The Holy Grail. (The Princess Bride rocks too. Inconceivable!)

What is the biggest life lesson you’ve learned from your kids?
I don’t have any kids and I count that as a lesson in and of itself. (I agree Jess.) I will also add that I think I have learned to not take myself or life too seriously, and to enjoy the small things in life, like chewing on sticks or sliding around on hardwood floors.

What book do you know you should read but refuse to?
I don't think that there is a book out there that I SHOULD read but REFUSE to.

What is your physical abnormity/abnormal physical ability?
I think that would probably be the scar that is on my knee. I cut it on an air vent when I was in 3rd grade. Then some punk ass girl tripped me in class and made me fall which in turn made my stitches rip apart. Wasn't a pretty sight.

What is your favorite color?
Green

Can the people outside your car hear the music playing inside your car?
Oh hell yeah they can. I totally rock out to some Tool or 311 in my car. But when I get to a red light, I usually turn it down to be nice.

In a perfect world, how many hours sleep would you get per night?
10-14 hours. I, like Jess and Larkin, LOVE to sleep. It's the best thing ever. Especially when you have the rotten animals all curled up around you.

And since I can't tag Larkin or Jess... I guess I will tag... Ivy!
